This week we celebrate a holiday that is pretty much dedicated to food. My only saving grace is that I cannot eat much at one sitting. I will be going to my parents for Thanksgiving lunch. My father had open-heart surgery about seven years ago, so my mother does cook relatively healthy. However, there is no shortage of sweets. I probably will not be there more than about 24 hours.
I will also be expected to eat Thanksgiving dinner at my mother-in-laws. My brother-in-law lives with her and he has also had open-heart surgery, so here again, there will be healthy food. But they are also notorious for having bags of chocolate and munchies of all types around everywhere. It is this chocolate and these munchies that will present me with the biggest problem.
I am definitely going to need the help of my Higher Power. The one thing that I will have to my benefit is that we probably will not stay more than a day at each place. Although, controlling my food intake may present a challenge, I will enjoy seeing my families.
